If I could go back in time I would find the one I love and say the things I was too scared to say. I would pour my heart and pour my love. I would worry even less.
If I could go back in time I would replace my fears with bravery. I would draw the line and take my stance. I would set my boundaries and push. I will push back at whomever tries to steal my home.
If I could go back in time I would apologise a little easier, let go of the need to be liked a little quicker and say no a little more.
If I could go back in time I would hold your hand, I would give you my ears and I would lend you my heart so it can beat for you a tune that will keep you longer.
If I could go back in time. I cannot. So I leave the past in the past and drink up my coffee before it gets cold.
Before the coffee gets cold was a really nice read. The book was basically about time travel. You know, people always have a time in the past they wish they could relive or do over. I guess that’s what the author was trying to portray the most. However, with so many rules to be followed many passed on the opportunity. The ones that did go had to be done with their “mission” before the coffee got cold or they won’t be able to return and as such become ghosts. One thing they had to know for sure was that no matter what they did they couldn’t change what already was.
I think it was a really good story. It made me think of a lot of things I wish never happened and things I wish did. Ultimately, it made me realise that just maybe everything is exactly the way it’s supposed to be. The good times are really great and bad times are inevitable but they are always liveable. We just have to make sure not to live in regret, learn from our story and leave the past exactly where they should be. In the past. The future is too bright to use the colours of our former to begin the new chapters.
I’d love to know your thoughts on the piece and if you’ve read the book what do you think?
“When you go back, no matter how hard you try, the present won’t change.”
