I don’t know if it’s just me, but sometimes before a moment turns to memory,
I try to savour it because its end means to have to face a reality without you in it.
I don’t know if it’s just me, but when seasons are over,
I immediately feel it and the tighter I try to hold on the faster it disappears.
I don’t know if it’s just me but we did make simple moments
last so long I would never forget them.
I don’t know if it’s just me but the silent companies we shared
were the most beautiful stories we ever created.
I don’t know if it’s just me but if I could go back, I would.
This time, I would take more pieces of your heart and leave you with a little more of mine
so when the curtains fall, we can have so much more to hold on to.
I don’t know if it’s just me but music takes me back to places we’ve both been
and for once, I would just like to stay there and maybe never leave.
I don’t know if it’s just me but I miss you for the rest of my life
and most likely the day after.
PS; It’s almost election season. I sincerely hope we all make it count.
